Vintage Doorstop

Way back when polyester was popular, we often received samples of clothing in the mail. I would make tiny doll quilts and clothing for my barbies.  I wonder if this is what this star is made of?  It is vintage, it is antique and it is hand sewn. I love it. I have made several similar to this, but none as beautiful or treasured as the original star.

My Sister's paintbrush!!

I love my sister. She is one of the most talented people I know. I asked her to paint some lightbulbs for a show and she came up with this bulb to match a box. Adorable, simply adorable.

The Art of Stippling - one tiny dot at a time

One of my very favorite prints is pictured below. A dear friend sits quietly in his studio surrounded by his favorite things and creates the most beautiful art, one tiny dot at a time. This is the art of stippling. Sometimes a piece will take weeks for him to complete. I am very blessed to receive each print from him. My collection has grown over the years, and I'll share it with you over the next few weeks. If you are interested in his work, his website will be opening soon. Most prints are black and white, which have a beauty all their own, some are in color. I love the simplicity of each design. It opens my imagination and inspires me to create. If he can create something this beautiful with one tiny dot at a time, we can all make a difference in our world, we just have to start somewhere and continue the process until we have a complete beautiful result. Thank you Brent for the beauty you add to our lives!!
